Synopsis

The book Qur'an: Stylistic and Mathematical Miracle presents mutually two methods in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text. The first method is stylistic and the second is mathematical. In this book, the autors present both methods convinced that they both are inherent to the Text and valid in its interpretation. The book shows that these two methods are neither opposed to one another nor even parallel, but that they operate in the form of synthesis affirming the same basic values of the Text. The strength of the Text, marked by its openness to all times, is presented in this synthesis in a new way. It is shown that even mathematical language per se can be regarded as suggestive, metaphorical and connotative when it comes to the consonant enigmas at the beginnings of Qur'anic suras. Two kinds of poetics, literary and mathematical one, elaborated in the book are found not opposing to each other, but mutually complement. The first part of the book referring to the poetic and stylistic interpretation of the Text was written by Esad Duraković, while the part referring to its mathematical analysis was written by Lutvo Kurić.
